It is difficult to decide which language to write this post in.
Why?
Uhm. Many reasons…
the song which the words belong to is in English;
maybe if I write in English more people read it;
it just feels right this way…
So, what do I want to talk about?
Mood. I want to talk about mood. Mine.
Every time I hear the song “The pretender” by Foo Fighters, something happens inside me. I feel like I am taking off from a aircraft carrier. Inside the cockpit pushed by powerful engine soaring into the sky for a final combat.
Nothing could be further from my normal life.
What comes closest to my inner trend is a jelly fish. I usually study situations to find the most efficient way to save energy.
But we need to understand what “saving energy” means in my life: avoiding stupid conflicts, avoiding pointless work that would be a waste of time and resources (physical, financial, etc.), and dodging disputes when not strictly necessary. Even if hellfire burns inside me, I avoid them to prevent causing hurt.
So, why this feeling with this song? May be something that want to come out but can’t because (in my opinion) is not the moment yet or it will be never because it is just something that does not belong to me.
Anyway, this song really moves my feelings forward, but only for as long as it lasts. Then, it’s over.
There is another reason why this song makes me feel this way today: I used to listen to it during the period I was separating from my ex-wife.
It wasn’t a pleasant time.
The music helped me resist. I was in the cockpit of my emotional fighter jet, launched into the sky dodging all the bullets where fired to me, never pulling the trigger to avoid harming anybody.
That’s it.
